Our carts are registered, licensed and insured as Low Speed Vehicles (LSV) in the state of Florida. The same rules and laws apply to LSV’s as regular cars or trucks. LSV’s can only be driven on roads with posted speed limits of 35mph or less. Children 5 and under must be properly seated in the appropriate car seat for their age. We do not provide car seats. If you do not have your own, you can rent a seat from a 3rd party provider.

If you receive a citation while the cart is in your possession we kindly ask that you take care of the fine prior to leaving town or within the grace period by the issuing authority. If the citation is not paid during that time and we receive a delinquent collection notice from the issuing party, we will need to make a payment on your behalf to avoid further action from the issuing party. In that case, we will require a reimbursement payment for the full amount of the citation, any additional fees from the issuing entity as well as a $50 processing fee from Beach Bum Cart Rental. This amount will be charged to the primary driver's credit card on file, per our credit card retention form agreement.
LSV carts can be legally driven on any road that is 35mph or less. Roads must have a posted speed limit of 35mph or less. The LSV cart cannot be driven over curbs, off road, on beaches, bike paths or sidewalks. The primary renter and authorized additional renters/driver(s) understand and agree that the rented LSV vehicle must be operated according to all Florida state laws and all normal rules of the road.
There are so many factors that play into how far you can go it is difficult for us to make promises. The average for our carts is approximately 25 -30 miles on a full charge. Your best bet is to plug the cart in each night to ensure you get the most out of each day. We also highly encourage you to plug the LSV cart in any time it is not in use.
Any road with a green street sign is a county-maintained road. Any road with a blue street sign is private.
No. There are some neighborhoods that prohibit golf cart rentals. These rules are strictly enforced by HOAs. Click Here to view some of the communities where rentals are not allowed. This list only includes properties that we are currently aware of that do not permit LSV cart rentals. It is solely your responsibility to ensure that LSV carts are allowed in the neighborhood where you’re staying. Please do not place your reservation with us until you’ve checked with your property manager to ensure your neighborhood allows carts. If you rent a cart that you’re unable to use due to HOA restrictions, a refund will not be issued if you’re within 10 days of arrival. If you book and then discover it cannot be used where you’re staying within 7 days prior to start date, a $100 cancellation fee will be withheld from your refund to offset the losses Beach Bum Cart Rental incurred on processing your booking.
It is also very important to insure your rental has a place to charge your cart. We will provide you with an extension cord. The LSV cart will need to be charged overnight each day, and we also encourage you to charge it during the day when not in use. That way the battery is always full and ready for you to enjoy. Carts <50% charged should not be relied upon and need immediate charging. At <50%, they soon begin to decrease in speed, quickly depleting and going dead.
Is there a gate code we need to access your rental? If so, please include this information when you sign your rental agreement to ensure we are able to deliver your LSV cart in a timely manner.
Delivery is by 4:00 PM on the start date of your reservation. We make every effort to deliver earlier, but cannot guarantee delivery prior to 4:00 PM. Especially during peak season traffic.
Pick ups start at 8:00 AM on the end date of your reservation.
Ensuring your rental neighborhood allows golf carts is your responsibility which is why Beach Bum Cart Rental advises you to check with your property manager before confirming your reservation. Cancellation requests made within 7 days of the start date of rental agreement will not be refunded. Cancellation requests made 8+ days prior to the start date of the rental agreement, regardless of the reason, will incur a $100 cancellation fee to offset the loss Beach Bum Cart Rental incurs on processing fees for reservations already placed. If we need to recall your cart due to a hurricane or other unforeseen issue, we will issue a prorated refund for the days you prepaid for but couldn’t use. If your LSV cart gets towed or impounded, your will not receive a refund for unused time and any fees associated with these events will be charged to the primary drivers credit card on file. If you are observed not obeying all Florida laws while using the cart, your cart will be confiscated and you will not receive a refund for unused time.
The key fob/remote you were provided turns the lights on, switches the color, speed, and mode to your liking. Please make sure to turn the LED lights off when the cart is not in use, as they cause a slow drain on the cart battery.
